Everything about Melbourne Tram Route 48 totally explainedTram route 48 is a public transport service in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It runs from NewQuay Docklands to North Balwyn via Flinders Street, Wellington Parade and Bridge Road. Like most tram routes in Melbourne, it falls within Metcard ticketing Zone 1, and also has a section in the CitySaver zone. There is also plans to extend the line to Westfield Doncaster.
Tram route 48 will be one of two tram routes to provide a transport link to the Southern Star Observation Wheel tourist attraction which is currently under construction.
Route
There are 57 stops on route 48.
Starts at Melbourne Docklands (stop D11), then runs via:
- Docklands Drive/Harbour Esplanade
- Flinders Street (stop D6-8)
- Melbourne Exhibition Centre (stop D6)
- Crown Casino, tram routes 75, 96, 109 and 112 (stop 1)
- King Street, Melbourne Aquarium (stop 2)
- Market Street, Banana Alley Vaults, tram route 55 (stop 3)
- Elizabeth Street, tram routes 19, 57 and 59 (stop 4)
- Flinders Street Station (stop 4-5)
- Federation Square, St Paul's Cathedral, tram routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 and 72 (stop 5)
- Russell Street, Forum Theatre (stop 6)
- Spring Street, Treasury Gardens (stop 8)
- Wellington Parade (stop 9-14)
- Bridge Road (stop 15-28)
- Church Street (stop 29)
- High Street (stop 30-40)
- Doncaster Road (stop 41-51)
